La Reconquête

The canvas is considered as an arena in which to act for the famous Senegalese artist Soly Cissé.

Each canvas is a complex story with multiple layers. Characters tell of the unchanging rites of opposition and domination that manage the human and animal hierarchies while incorporating figures of wisdom and hope.

His technique is immediate action. From the outside to the center of the canvas, the acts follow each other, the elements play their role and can disappear with a brush stroke if a newcomer comes to appease the relationship. It does not matter that the artist has spent long hours giving it life. The important thing is that they existed and played their role.
