Throughout the exhibitions, Baidi Oumarou affirms his “humanism” through his paintings. The artist scrutinizes the human being, man and woman, with an attentive eye with simple expressionist techniques.

Oumarou opts for the omnipresence of uncoloured vegetation since it is systematically black. His genius lies – among other things – in the bias of black. Black is not a colour: it is the sum of all colours!!! He plays with shades of black. It declines all the tones, from the brightest to the darkest. Subtle camaïeu! This apparently harmless plastic process, however, offers its canvases a perfect harmony and pleasing to the eye.
Its technique is ordered: it uses only one colour at a time. As a result, the pigments appear clean and sliced in some places giving its final creation a very finite and motionless appearance, as if suspended in time…
The perspective or simple depth of field are non-existent: the vegetation, whose contours are reinforced by a white edge, constitutes the decor and its characters occupy the central place of its paintings. Frozen and faceless, illuminated by a strong contrast between the light and the dark created by the bright colours of its flowers. The chromatism of each of its canvases is unique and singular
