Ousmane Mbaye is a Senegalese designer and decorator.
A former refrigeration technician – a profession he has held for 17 years – he took advantage of this know-how (or “savoir fer”, according to him) to create contemporary furniture from recycled materials (drum lids). Using galvanized metal water pipes, he nourishes a real passion for metal and likes starting from the raw material. By folding the metal according to his inspiration, he creates and assemble the material to produce a table, a tray or a lamp.
He is passionate about three things:
Tabouret Patrimoine
He has an immense curiosity about everything that surrounds him. Each creation expresses extreme rigor of realization and beautiful aesthetics.
His works have been celebrated and recognized at the 2008 Dak’Arts Biennale or at the Dapper Museum in Paris during the exhibition “Design in Africa” Sit, Go to Bed and Dream “in 2012.
